Not sure if I am going to be able to sleep tonight.  That game had the intensity of the last ball of a tied one day International, but it lasted for 90 minutes.

Shocked and stunned and very very happy!

New Zealand Player Influence

Shots on goal

All Passes

Blue is a successful pass, red a failed pass.  Note Italy's sea of possession.

Fantastic result for NZ this world cup is keeps throwing up the surprises!!  Paston must of played  the game of his life! Abosolutly brilliant effort Against the cup holders and a team of dramatic actors! well done.

Just one more hurdle to go "Go the All Whites" surprise us again!

Unbelievable. The Italians should be in the Oscars not the world cup. I just don't get the ref not pulling out the cards for all these bs dives. Maybe that stupid little excuse of a ref just couldn't see over our guys. Infuriating, but at least our guys kept it together and held them out. And Paston, YOU ARE THE MAN!!!

Relying on their diving skills in order to gain a draw pretty much sums up the Italian effort. They had a wealth of possession but could not crack our defensive fortress. They don't strike me as having the bottle to make it all the way this time.

A hard core English supporting friend of mine maintains that the Kiwis could beat England at the moment and I honestly believe they could. Sensational stuff.

Name and shame time.  De Rossi where is your pride? Is this really how you want to play the game?

Yes Big thumbs up to the All Whites and Mark Paston was absolutely World Class. When Italy had that penalty my mind went back to Wellington and thought to myself that if Mark could do a similar save he would have achieved instant LEGEND status but he revealed all that class in the 2nd half. Man the Italian style of football is boring.
